The Step Saver, Inc. Terms and Rates Agreement for Placing Classifieds

To our valued advertisers:

The Step Saver, Inc. has the following provisions for placing classified advertisements via our www.stepsaver.com web site.

After reviewing these terms, if you have any questions regarding the classification of your advertisement or the guidelines for placing a classified ad, please contact The Step Saver offices at 860/628-9645 for additional information.

The StepSaver is published weekly, on Fridays, in the towns of Bristol, Plainville and Southington. We reach over 110,000 readers.

Classifieds submitted online appear both online and in the printed editions.

Deadlines

The deadline for all Step Saver publications is: Friday, 4:00 PM to appear in the following week.

Free Classified Ads

Personal classified ads will appear in The Step Saver and online at no charge for under our "For Sale" classification. The total value of all the items in the ad cannot exceed $100.00 to qualify as a free ad.

To qualify for a Free Classified, the ad must be 3 lines / 30 characters per line with a declared value not to exceed $100.

Free personal classified ads are limited to one ad per household/family/phone number/email address per week.

The value and quantity of any item(s) must be listed in the ad. Ads will be accepted only via fax, mail, over-the-counter, or online. No phone calls will be accepted for free personal ads.

Lost and Found

Items to be given away free are printed FREE in your local Step Saver and online only as a public service to residents in our area of circulation.

Tag Sales

Tag sale ads are billed at the Personal Rate. Only two Tag Sales per year will be accepted at the Personal Rate.

Personal Classifieds

Items costing more than $100.00 will be run at the normal personal classified rate. This rate applies to the first 3 lines (30 characters per line including spaces). Additional lines will be charged at the rate of $2.00 per line.

Payment may be made by cash, check or charge only. Payment for online orders is by charge card only.

In general, any ad which advertises a product or service competing with an established business in the area, regardless of its nature; or any ad to sell AKC registered dogs or animals raised for profit; all real estate ads, (rentals or for sale) shall be considered a business ad and therefore not acceptable as a "Personal Ad."

No business or commercial ads will be accepted at personal rates. Business and commercial rates may be requested by contacting The Step Saver offices at 860/628-9645.

  • $16 all towns + the Internet
  • $2.00 each additional line or part thereof

Commercial Classified Rates

(3 lines or less, 30 characters per line)
  • $42.00 all towns + the Internet
  • $3.00 each additional line or part thereof

The Step Saver, Inc reserves the right to refuse any advertisement and can not be held liable for losses incurred as a result thereof.

The Step Saver, Inc. makes no claims or warranties regarding either the sale of an item or number of calls that will be generated for any item or service advertised.
